0 5/5 Dana R. (New York) - See all my reviews This review is from: Chamberlain KLIK2U Clicker Keypad (Tools & Home Improvement) The best feature of the Chamberlain keypad is that it requires no additional wiring for installation. Once you program the keypad to your garage door opener, it's ready to attach (2 screws). It took me a couple tries to complete the programming, due to the fact I was not fully depressing the numbers on the keypad when programming the code. I would highly recommend. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 1, 2008

This review is from: Liftmaster 377LM 315MHz Garage Door Keypad We used to have the key switch on the side of our garage. We recently had an alarm system installed and one of the first things the installer did was tell us to remove it. When I asked why he showed me how easy it was to just pry the switch off of the garage and short the two wires together to open the door. I'd never thought about it. He recommended we install the wireless unit here. Amazon had a good price so I ordered it. Had it installed in about two minutes. "Training" it to our garage door opener was so easy I thought I'd missed something until it worked. The security issue is enough to make this worthwhile but boy is it convenient now when we want to open the garage and don't have keys because they're in the house. Well worth the money in my book. This review is from: Genie Garage Door Opener Deluxe Wall Console and Button GPWC-2WLB (Misc.) The house I lived in for a few years had sinlge push-button garage door opener. When I needed extra light in the garage; there was no way to turn on the garage door light & have it stay on. I wasn't that worried about it until I stumbled upon this unit, here. Now, I have the ability to flip on the garage door light without opening the garage (the light only stayed for 5 minutes). So, YES, I like being able to turn the light on, seperatly. The buttons are illuminated in red. Plus, you can lock/unlock the buttons (stops the kids from playing with the buttons). Installation was simple - took like 2 minutes. Honestly, this is most likely a one-time purchase for me because I can't see it breaking or malfunctioning any time, soon. All in all, I'm happy. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 10, 2009

Works with Craftsman 1/2 HP opener

I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP opener with a manufactured date of 8/2000, and the orange smart learning button. The instructions for this Liftmaster keypad suggest that my opener is type 4 with an opener ID of 2 for programming purposes. When done this way, either the keypad will work with the opener, OR my original remotes will work with the opener, but not both. Clearly that would be unacceptable, so I tried different numbers for the opener ID, and everything worked perfectly after programming the keypad using an opener ID of 4. Perhaps it is a mistake in the instructions, or perhaps there was a running change in my opener model, who knows. The point is, if it doesn't work when programmed with the opener ID specified in the instructions, try the other ID numbers before giving up.Other than the programming issue, it works fine. I have a newer door with full steel facing front and back, about 1.5" thick overall (IIRC the R value is something like 12.6). Works well with Sears Craftsman opener

0 5/5 golden_ "golden_" (Colorado) - See all my reviews This review is from: Liftmaster Clicker Universal Wireless Keyless Entry Keypad 387LM (Electronics) This device makes a great gift. For about a year now, it has worked flawlessly with our 1994 model Sears Craftsman garage door opener. The directions were good and programming was easy. I was initially concerned about two things: the lettering wearing off the keys we use, and dropping keystrokes which would cause us to have to reenter the code. Neither has been a problem. Although we use it daily, the lettering on the keys has not shown any wear yet. The keypad is good and every keystroke is reliable. I like the backlight feature - easier to see in the dark. The backlight comes on with your first keystroke and turns off automatically. The one slight complaint I have is that the lid doesn't like to stay up by itself, after several months of use. This requires slightly more coordination for one-handed operation. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 11, 2010

Very good product. Fixed the problem

This unit was easy to install and fixed my old craftsman garage door opener model 139.53962SRT.I learned a few tricks in the processThese are some general troubleshooting steps:1.- Check the wiring first. Be sure wires has not been damaged. With ohm meter check for open circuit or short circuit.2.-Disconnect the receiver and sender units. They both connect to the same terminals. Terminals 2 and 3 in my opener. Be sure to label the wires to be able to reconnect them later. Measure the voltage in the terminals. It should be around 6 volts DC. Terminal 2 negative. Terminal 3 positive. If there is no voltage the control card in the opener is defective. This kit will not help in that case.3.- Reconnect the sender unit first. Its LED light should come on. If it does not, the sender is defective. Replace the sender.4.- If the sender LED comes on, connect the receiver unit. The LED light comes on when it detects infrared light. Point the sender... 5/5 J. Alvarez - See all my reviews, September 5, 2009

    Safety Sensors Beam Kit

0 5/5 Schmidt - See all my reviews I bought this safety beam kit as a replacement for the kit in my Sears garage door opener. The order was delivered on time. Although the sensors were different from the original kit, they perfectly fit as a replacement. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. The task is simple and it took me 5 minuts to complete the job, including the time for the removal of the old sensors whose bots were partially rusted. The new sensors worked perfectlly. The kit came with all the needed items: new bolts with wing nuts and the conectors that were need for splicing the new wires with the old ones. More importent, the sensors cost half the price that was charged by Sears online. Therefore I rate it 5 stars. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 10, 2009

Fixed my problem that was due to the sender side

0 5/5 G. Natehk - See all my reviews This review is from: Liftmaster 41A5034 Garage Door Opener Safety Beam Kit (Electronics) When I was pressing the garage opener, the motor was getting stuck and the bulb would blink 10 times - indicating some perceived obstruction on the safety sensor infrared light beam path. My safety sensor sender side yellow light was on - the receiver side green light was not turning on after multiple tries at alignment. Then I read on one of the reviews that you can use the television remote to check if the receiver is working - right on the green light on the receiver came on. After checking all the wires for loose connection, came to the conclusion that the sender side infrared source might have gone weak.Got part number from owner's manual. Checked on amazon and came to this product. We got the kit within two days (after paying for the 2 day shipping). I was able to cut and splice in the new sender unit and the door started working immediately after that. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 12, 2010

I purchased two sets of the beamers for my 1998 Stanley Vemco doors. Had trouble with the origial safety sensors and was sick of holding the button to close so it was time to fix. Worked like a charm thanks to other reviews

I was using this device to replace yellow Moore-O-Matic sensors. I agree with other reviewers that the instructions are totally inadequate if you are replacing sensors for a Moore-O-Matic. The receiver on the old sensor has four wires, the new unit only two; and the instructions mention nothing about this. Another reviewer said that you needed to hook both positives of the old receiver (one labeled "to emitter," the other labeled "to operator") to the single positive of the Digi-Code receiver and both negatives from the old reciever to the single negative of the Digi-Code receiver (You also need to cut the yellow wire on the back of the new receiver as it says in the Digi-Code instructions). He said you needed to switch the position of the emitter and receiver, but I found that was not necessary and wonder if the reviewer had some location specific issues (my doors face south and do not get any direct sun). 0 5/5 Brad Cowles "Tech Enthusiast" (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Liftmaster 41Ac050-1 Logic Board for Chain Drive Operator This was a no-brainer replacement. My garage door openner got zapped in a lightening storm. The lights were flashing in a certain pattern that corresponded to "replace logic board" in the on-line user manual. So, I found this on line, ordered it, and reinstalled it in about 10 minutes, and everything worked the first time. The hardest part is reprogramming the remote and the two cars' built in buttons - each of which have rolling codes. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 5, 2009

Right part, despite wrong code from opener

0 5/5 Bandit - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Liftmaster 41Ac050-1 Logic Board for Chain Drive Operator Following a lightning storm, my opener stopped working. It gave me the troubleshooting code of the LED light blinking 5 times. I was confident it wasn't the motor since my motor would engage it just wouldn't travel very far. Based on the troubleshooting code I replaced the RPM sensor, yet I still got the 5 blinks. Arrgh. I debated on spending the money on a "long shot" (since the codes couldn't be wrong... duh) but remembered reading a post somewhere of another user's similar situation where he replaced the board and it fixed it. After a couple of weeks of deliberation, I bought the board and voila! Perfect. Simple replacement - very straight forward. I went ahead and ordered the surge protector while I was at it in hopes of preventing a similar outage in the future. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 17, 2011
