This review is from: Genie Intellicode Gitr-3 Remote Replaces Git-1, Git-2 & Git-3 Sure can't beat the price. I have a (about) 10 year old Genie Intellicode opener and needed an additional remote. It comes with detailed instructions on how to program, but I had a little difficulty that I may be able to spare you from. The learn button that you will need to push on the opener is next to the light bulbs, not under the cover with the motor and circuit boards. I was initially unable to get the opener to learn the code being broadcast from this remote. Turns out that I had to reset the opener so that none of my remotes were recognized, then program them all again at the same time. It works great, and I know from previous use with Genie's remotes that the battery will last 6 or more years with daily use. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 13, 2011

This review is from: Genie Intellicode Gitr-3 Remote Replaces Git-1, Git-2 & Git-3 Followed all directions, and failed to work. Before returning to Amazon I checked other reviews -- and read about the Right Button working for older openers. Tried programming with Right Button (single braile dot) -- and it worked first time. So, though it says "For ALL Intellicode Openers" -- they leave out some details on the instructions. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 15, 2012

Was led to this particular style remote control on Overhead Door parts site because single-button version apparently no longer made. Cost $26.95 with over $12 shipping. Found this Genie version of same remote on Amazon. Learned that Genie and Overhead are interchangeable in this case. Ordered because of great price compared to Overhead Door site. Received in timely manner and works great. Detailed instructions included for activation. Follow carefully. Tip for those who complain of short range

0 5/5 EPS (West Columbia, SC) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control (Tools & Home Improvement) I got mine set up fairly quickly. Didn't work the first time, so I reversed all the switches on the opener and did it again, and that did the trick. But I then found the range to be very short - less than 10 feet - no good! But what I also found was that I was expecting to press the button 16 times for a Stanley opener, yet 14 did the trick (i.e. the door was activated on the 14th press.) 14 is for a multicode (I take that to mean generic.) So I programmed it again, but this time did the full 16 presses, and now my range is very good - along the lines of 100 feet. Also, if you're curious (I was) - how does it control 2 doors with only 1 set of DIP switches? It remembers the settings during activation. So you set it to match one door, do the programming step, then set it to match the switches on your second door and do the programming step for it. Great unit and highly recommend! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 22, 2010

    Wow! Am I happy!

My Genie opener was installed in 1990, and I had dropped the remote for what turned out to be the last time. I had searched and found out that model remote was no longer made. I took a chance and ordered the Clicker. When the Clicker arrived, I found the reference to my unit. I knew about the DIP switches inside my existing remote, and the Clicker instructions told me to program the DIP switches inside the Clicker just the same. (This is only true for specific models of openers, remotes and year installed - others use the programming button on the receiver). I followed the clear directions: they seemed a bit odd, but I followed them exactly (17 clicks) and voila! ~ the garage door opened! I programmed the other door as well, and now I have one compact remote to open both doors. I cannot believe it took me so long to find the solution, and it took less than five minutes to program the two doors. Wow! Am I happy! The instructions are clear and detailed, and you just need to... 5/5 KBSt "KBSt" (San Francisco, CA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control (Tools & Home Improvement) My Genie opener was installed in 1990, and I had dropped the remote for what turned out to be the last time. Install issues but working well now

0 4/5 CSL (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews The manual is pretty good and they pack things so that they are easy to find and follow but for my tall door which required an extension kit they missed some crucial info. The belt bullet/joiner needs to be on the right side when inside the garage and facing door. If you make this mistake you could have some bad results--broken pully. The instructions are also weak around the top section brace. Now that it's installed and working well I do like it and the quietness and overall ease of use 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 16, 2011

0 5/5 CaddiMan - See all my reviews Very very quiet ! Its funny when I hear all my neighbors garage doors squeecking and the loud chains going up and down while mine is pure silence ! Love it ! One thing that did happen I believe was that we had a power surge with lightning and for almost 6 months they would not work ! Finaly I replaced the door sensors and it still did not work . Come to find out Genie asked me if I had any power outages or lightning bad and I said yes . They sent me two new circuit boards free of charge and they have worked like new ever since ! They poped right out and in very easy to install circuit boards. Hope the newer part number lasts longer then this old one...

I have a Genie screw drive model ISD 995, which uses this same board (34019R). I had the same problem as JT in his review; it would stop before reaching top (among other earlier signs of dieing).I called Genie and explained everything to them and that I bought the door opener about six years ago from Home Depot. The Genie representative I called was very helpful and walked me through several different tests (while still on the phone with them) to see if the problem could be corrected. The last test (of maybe 5 different tests) they had me do while on the phone with them was to disconnect the door from the black plastic track guide by removing the cotter pin from the steel connecting rod that connects the door rod to the plastic track guide. Even with the door unattached in any way to the drive screw, I could not get the drive gear black bracket to operate correctly and reach its open limit without stopping. The Genie operator then told me that my drive motor... 1/5 L. A few issues, but otherwise does what it is suppose to.

Following the instructions, the set up of the following device was quick and easy with very little problem. It works as it claims it does, allowing you to use a code in order to open your garage, thus allowing you to keep a garage door opener outside, which is very useful for someone like me, with a detached garage. This device lights up when any button is hit, thus allowing you to see it in the dark. The buttons are quite large, and the device is actually larger than the last one I owned, which is a good thing in this case, as you don't have to worry about button slippage as much when you have gloves on in the cold. The reason it has a 4 star and not a 5 is because of two problems. First off, even when typing the code in correctly, it doesn't always work. Sometimes I need to retype the entire code, sometimes, just the open button, but for whatever reason, buttons occasionally do not register and you have to type the code in 2-3 times. 3 years living with Genie Wireless keypad

I've purchased the wireless keypad about 3 years ago when I had my Genie belt driven door opener installed. I live in Albuquerque, NM, and the weather never seems to get to extreme in the winters or summers (very little rain also). My house also faces south with direct sunlight on the wireless keypad 90% of the time. This keypad has performed flawlessly since the installation. The color of the remote looks a little faded and my daughter broke the front cover off about 2 years ago; but, this unit has never failed to perform as advertised. The numbers of the buttons don't look worn and the keypad's backlighting still works. I usually change the 9v battery once a year and the keypad maintains its programming during the exchange. My only gripe would be the cover breaking so easily and you have to replace the whole unit (the plastic on top of keypad broke and you cannot connect the cover to it).Having this keypad outside the garage is a must have when you have... 5/5 Mrgold35 "MRGold" (New Mexico, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) I've had some issues looking for a replacement Multicode opener at the local hardware stores in the area. I tried 2 different universal remote door openers with no luck. Came across this on Amazon and thought, what the heck. It's the same brand and model, and somewhat same shape/style. I set the dipswitches to match my garage door and the thing worked on the first try. Good deal! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 22, 2007

    Exactly what I expected

0 4/5 Josh - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Linear 3089 1-Channel Visor Transmitter (Misc.) I bought this to give my girlfriend a remote control to my apartments, and it worked exactly as I'd expect. I simply looked up the model that I had, matched up the DIP switches, and it worked on the first try. It's nothing special, but I'm satisfied with the product, especially at the price point. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 21, 2011
