How To Change Garage Door

Jul 17, 2011 by Neil | Posted in Volkswagen

how do i reset immobiliser on 1995 vw polo?

Just changed the battery and when I open the doors the alarm goes off. Key fob won't stop alarm. Any ideas what I can do to get car to garage

Had a the same thing happen to me, had to disconnect the alarm inside the dashboard to get it to VW dealer to reprogram it. When you open the dashboard and it's got colored wires you can just disconnect it, but if the wires is white you'll have to tow it to a dealer and let them reprogram it. My car was right hand drive and was just behind the dashboard. it's just a few screws and it all comes apart. Hope this helps....Good luck!

Step-Ball-Change, A Novel

Creator: Jeanne Ray | 2012-02-08

I had thought that all of his previous irritating phone calls for how to get the garage door opener to work (change the batteries) or how he could get his groceries delivered to the house (Taffy called their housekeeper and made arrangements ...

About this book
With a ringing phone, Jeanne Ray’s charming and amusing new novel gets off to a rollicking start that never lets up. Not for a minute. On the other end of the phone is Caroline’s daughter, Kay, a public defender like her father, sobbing at the improbably good news that the richest, most eligible boy in Raleigh, North Carolina, has asked her to marry him. While Caroline and Tom are trying to digest this, the other phone, the “children’s line,” rings; it is Caroline’s sister, Taffy, hysterical over her husband’s decision to leave her for a woman two years younger than her daughter. Soon Taffy is wending her way up from Atlanta to seek solace in her sister’s home, even though the two have been separated by more than just geography for the past forty years. With her is her little dog, Stamp, who has a penchant for biting ankles and stealing hearts. Tom and Caroline quickly realize that the wedding their future son-in-law’s family is envisioning for nine-hundred-plus guests is to be their fiscal responsibility. To top it all off, the foundation of their home is in danger of collapsing and their contractor and his crew have all but moved in. It’s a thundering whirlwind of emotion that finally boils down to: Who is in love with whom? and Who’s going to get the next dance? Wise, funny, and impossible to put down, Step-Ball-Change is peopled with characters you feel you have known your whole life. It’s the kind of book that you can’t bear to see end.

The Kindness of Strangers: Treasures of the Heart

Creator: Paul Sybert | 2012-04-05

They found the can opener, and garage door opener batteries. I was grateful beyond belief forthe catastrophe. There were changes to be made in billing: the cable company, the gas and electric company. In time the changes were made.

About this book
If there's one thing author Paul Sybert knows well, it's the act of living life in the face of adversity. In "The Kindness of Strangers," Sybert shares his life story and shows how he has confronted his fears and troubles and placed his trust in Jesus Christ. This memoir shares some of the most important moments in his life, as well as the tribulations that have tested him. "The Kindness of Strangers" recalls some of the most important events of Sybert's life-being baptized at age twelve, earning a bachelor's degree in engineering, experiencing divorce and the loss of love, struggling with an alcohol addiction, appreciating the gift of a spiritual mother, and surviving a stroke. But most of all, Sybert shares how God has worked in his life. Through anecdotes and illustrations, he communicates the importance of maintaining a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. "The Kindness of Strangers" offers insight into the life of a man who faced his fear and persevered.

My problem is that I ordered three at one time and was charged the full shipping and handling charges for each one individually. They were shipped together in one box as one would expect. So the actual price including the shipping and handling was much higher than what I expected. I feel I was ripped off, although somewhat subtly. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 2, 2012

It literally takes seconds to program. Just make sure your opener is compatible with SECURITY+ systems, which operate at 315 MHz (purple learn button and purple antenna). Tip for those who complain of short range

0 5/5 EPS (West Columbia, SC) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control (Tools & Home Improvement) I got mine set up fairly quickly. Didn't work the first time, so I reversed all the switches on the opener and did it again, and that did the trick. But I then found the range to be very short - less than 10 feet - no good! But what I also found was that I was expecting to press the button 16 times for a Stanley opener, yet 14 did the trick (i.e. the door was activated on the 14th press.) 14 is for a multicode (I take that to mean generic.) So I programmed it again, but this time did the full 16 presses, and now my range is very good - along the lines of 100 feet. Also, if you're curious (I was) - how does it control 2 doors with only 1 set of DIP switches? It remembers the settings during activation. So you set it to match one door, do the programming step, then set it to match the switches on your second door and do the programming step for it. Great unit and highly recommend! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 22, 2010

    Wow! Am I happy!

My Genie opener was installed in 1990, and I had dropped the remote for what turned out to be the last time. I had searched and found out that model remote was no longer made. I took a chance and ordered the Clicker. When the Clicker arrived, I found the reference to my unit. I knew about the DIP switches inside my existing remote, and the Clicker instructions told me to program the DIP switches inside the Clicker just the same. (This is only true for specific models of openers, remotes and year installed - others use the programming button on the receiver). I followed the clear directions: they seemed a bit odd, but I followed them exactly (17 clicks) and voila! ~ the garage door opened! I programmed the other door as well, and now I have one compact remote to open both doors. I cannot believe it took me so long to find the solution, and it took less than five minutes to program the two doors. Wow! Am I happy! New generation of opener tech - DIY Install

This product is the latest generation of opener technology from Chamberlain. It is extremely quiet and the warranty is fantastic (better than earlier generations). Please note that because this is a new generation, there WILL be compatibility problems with older generation openers. The remotes and remote keypad use Security+ 2.0 and the accessories use MyQ technology. This means that this opener will not work with previous generations of Chamberlain accessories, so be careful when purchasing them. Also, some reviews here that are not Amazon verified seem to not be for this unit and describe earlier generations. This unit is for 7' tall doors (kits available for taller ones). Note that the model carried by Costco looks to have a similar model number (WD962KD) but it uses the older technology so the accessories/remotes are not compatible.Pluses over older generation belt driven models: Better warranty than earlier generations. Silent Opener

This is the best garage door opener I have ever seen and not heard. It is well built and dead silent. The WD962KEV opener is sold under as a variety of bundles. I happen to have the HD920EV (HD stands for Home Depot), the opener itself is exactly the same across all these bundles, it is the accessories that are different (HD920EV, 349544, WD962KEF, and WD962KPEV are the same opener). My only complaint with this opener is the instruction manual. There is a fair amount of paper packed in the box. It would have been really simple for Chamberlain to publish and installation manual and then a separate manual for use. I'm not normally somebody that likes extra paperwork. In this case the installation is so complicated and long, and I will only use that part of the manual once; it seems logical to have a separate manual for adjusting, programming, and use. Sadly the whole box feels like a bunch of independent parts tossed in one box. The biggest omission is the whole... 5/5 Daniel G. Lebryk (Chicago) - See all my reviews, December 25, 2012

Although I bought this product at a local store, this product is the same.By far this is the quietest garage door opener I have owned. I am very impressed with everything about this product. Some people complained about the directions. I found them very clear. Some people also complained about some missing parts. Since each installation is very different, I can understand why some parts might not be included. The directions make it very clear which parts are missing from the kit. There is a downside that was brought up by a previous reviewer. The company that deals with the wireless stuff is called Homelink, a unit of Johnson Controls. I called up the company and told the representative that my car would not program properly. 0 5/5 Steve (Honolulu, HI) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Liftmaster 377LM 315MHz Garage Door Keypad We used to have the key switch on the side of our garage. We recently had an alarm system installed and one of the first things the installer did was tell us to remove it. When I asked why he showed me how easy it was to just pry the switch off of the garage and short the two wires together to open the door. I'd never thought about it. He recommended we install the wireless unit here. Amazon had a good price so I ordered it. Had it installed in about two minutes. "Training" it to our garage door opener was so easy I thought I'd missed something until it worked. The security issue is enough to make this worthwhile but boy is it convenient now when we want to open the garage and don't have keys because they're in the house. Well worth the money in my book. Great item, lousy manual! This review tells you how to operate it!

Well, well ... after reading several reviews which basically said "often you have to enter the code twice to operate the door" I decided to purchase the item nevertheless. The "learning" process is easy and straight forward. Follow the instructions and you are good to go. The tricky part is "everyday use" - I too ended up with having to enter the code twice now and then...I played around with the keypad and it is actually a smart device - if only the manual would mention HOW to operate it! Ok, here are my instructions:The door memorizes what you are doing. An example: You enter the pin code and push <Enter>. The keypad memorizes your pin number and sends an "open" command to the garage door. If you decide to close the door 2 minutes later, it will send a "close" command after you have entered the pin number and <Enter>. It sends a close command because it remembers that you just opened the door. It also remembers the pin you have entered. You could have... 5/5 M.
